Screen Shot 2014-07-02 at 11.18.56 AMAurasma An augmented reality tool.  You can augment a video to overlay any trigger image of your choice.  I used this in my classroom to introduce video making skills and as a part of Genius Hour.

Screen Shot 2014-07-06 at 8.57.19 AMDaqri An augmented reality tool that gives students the 4D experience of learning.  It’s memorability and dynamic experience helps students learn better and enhances their learning world.  Students can both create and consume using this app.  Other 4D apps that are through Daqri include: Anatomy 4D, Enchantium, Spacecraft 3D

Screen Shot 2014-07-02 at 11.20.30 AMColAR This app has a set of coloring pages that you can color and you can bring your own coloring page to life.  There is a free set of pages.  Upgrade for other pages are available at a small fee.  This app can be exciting to use for writing and storytelling purposes.

Screen Shot 2014-07-06 at 9.15.40 AMScreen Chomp A doodling board that you can record, sketch, and share.  Useful when it comes to explaining a concept or step by step problem, for instance in mathematics.  Students can help each other with homework and teachers can interact with students when they are away from school.

Screen Shot 2014-07-06 at 9.18.52 AMShow Me An interactive white board app for your iPad.  Simple, easy to use, and free.  You can record your voice as you write or explain.  Could easily be used to implement a flipped classroom.

Screen Shot 2014-07-06 at 9.22.45 AMThree Ring This is free for teachers, students, parents, and adniminstrators.  This app allows you to share student work with parents.  It is a great communication tool and allows families to be a “fly on the wall” in their child’s classroom.  Three Ring makes it easy to capture student work.

Screen Shot 2014-07-06 at 10.07.46 AMDaisy the Dinosaur An app for early elementary coding.  Drag and drop directions to create a code to get Daisy to dance across the screen.  Easy to use and great to relate to sequencing for the younger grade levels.  Students can download a kit to download their own computer game.

Screen Shot 2014-07-06 at 9.32.56 AMRemind Is an app that makes it safe for you to text your class.  It is a one way channel.  You never have to give out your phone number and you don’t have to have your students or parents number.  You can also add attachments onto you text messages.  A quick and easy way to communicate and send out reminders to your class that is free. Co-founded by @brettkopf (a MSU Alum!)

Screen Shot 2014-07-06 at 10.22.57 AMBooksApp This free app allows you to catalog your classroom library.  I use this app for myself just to take inventory of what I have.  The nice feature is that you can set it up for you students to use to check out books from your classroom library.  You can know who has your books when they are checked out.  You can connect books to a location, as well (leveled books, non-fiction picture books, etc.) and know which books you have multiple copies of.

Screen Shot 2014-07-06 at 9.40.08 AMEduClipper Founded by @adambellow, this app provides teachers and students a better place to explore, share, and contribute to learning both in and out of the classroom.  It allows you to clip things onto a board (in a similar fashion to Pinterest), create groups, classes, give feedback on assignments and create presentations.

Screen Shot 2014-07-06 at 9.40.48 AMPixel Press Floors An app that enables you to create your own video game by drawing on paper.  This app supports the design think process and is easily relatable to academics such as story elements and mathematics.  It is possible to design in app, as well.  They will be releasing lessons to go along with the app very soon!

Screen Shot 2014-07-02 at 11.23.39 AMChromville An augmented reality app that supports the idea of learning through gaming.  Students can color pages for different chapters in different villages and play through the app.  This app can support creative writing and storytelling for fantasy or fiction.

Screen Shot 2014-07-06 at 9.41.31 AMPhoto Circle This is a free app where you can upload photos and share albums with friends.  I have used this to take photos of my classroom set up and share it with other teachers.  They also share their classroom setup photos with me so we can bounce ideas off of each other.  Could easily be used to share photos of student work, etc.

Screen Shot 2014-07-06 at 8.49.21 AMPlickers A clicker but simplified.  Free and easy to use tool that requires no electronic devices for your students.  Instead, each students gets a unique barcode to answer with, a paper clicker if you will.  A neat tool for teachers to use because it stores the data and responses of your students.

Screen Shot 2014-07-24 at 4.46.30 PMEducreations This app allows you to turn your iPad into a recordable whiteboard. This is useful for blended and flipped learning.  It is easy to use so that students can create videos. Your recorded lessons are available online at educreations, also.
